Dear Yuletide Writer,

Thank you for writing a story for me! Whichever fandom you’’ve been assigned, please know that I’m delighted to get fic for it. These are all canons I discovered this year and I’m very excited about all of them. Sometimes at inordinate, I-keep-cutting-stuff-out-why-does-it-grow-back length.

For each fandom I have included some rambling about canon (these things tend to get away from me), several examples of stuff I’d be interested in, a list of stuff I ship in that fandom if you're someone who likes to have mentions of pairings , and a “things that might be relevant” paragraph, which covers a lot of ground but tends toward excitement for every single character in the canon and headcanons.
If my ships aren't your ships, please don't contradict them? I love gen about character relationships (I just… read it as pre-ship) and it would not be a let-down.

I've watched the series yesterday, and I have to say, I love how they modernized some of the plot.

On the other hand, I find their Lizzie to be unlikeable on the whole. Which is rather a huge surprise, given how much of a fan of hers I am.

Title: Neither Fate Nor Fortune [on the AO3]
Characters: Barbara (Jason, Bruce, Jim; Bruce/Jason)
Rating: PG-13
Series: Bring on the Night
Warnings: character death, ableism, violence, depression, offscreen underage, and all the content warning that comes with only mildly sanitized vampirism.
Summary: Barbara becomes Oracle, and Gotham's dead Robin is a vampire.

Canon timeline: I'm going with the idea that The Killing Joke takes place some months before Death in the Family. I'm playing loose with the chronology of some of the post-Death in the Family pre-No Man's Land storylines because of reasons.
Inspiration: I made canon soup from sources as diverse as Gotham Knights #43-44-45, Batman: Turning Points #3, Batman Chronicles #5 (Oracle Year One: Born of Hope), the DCAU, the Elseworlds Thrillkiller and Supergirl & Batgirl (spoilers for the latter two), Batman #424, and Gotham Central. I may be forgetting some.

Title: The Queen and the Girl who would be Night – a Gotham fairytale
Characters: Cass (Oracle, Steph, Helena, Leslie, Harvey Dent, Dick)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: ableism
Summary: the Queen of Fables takes over Gotham, and Cass is the hero of this story.

Notes & timeline: goes hand-wavy sometime between Infinite Crisis and RIP. Inspiration from the “Queen of Fables” arc of JLA (JLA #47-49). References No Man's Land and some of the unhappy events post Infinite Crisis (specifically, the Deathstroke screwing with Cass' mind storyline, which I've taken a couple liberties with. I don't know either.) No one's dead, everyone's in Gotham but Jason, Cass is Batgirl, Steph is Spoiler, Tim is Robin.

welp finishing the things did NOT help the selecting process. It's a fine equilibrium of "how much pretentiousness is too much pretentiousness" and wanting people to see that the title is relevant to the story and wanting it to reflect my feelings on the story and the character. ("Cass Is My Magical Perfect Hero" and "Babs Is The Baddest HBIC Ever" were never even in the running, but some hypothetical titles for the Cassbang edge quite close indeed to the "Cass = ♥♥♥" zone.)
