• emotional showdowns: understated ones, big dramatic ones after a dramatic scene, public denial, private denials, displays of support, magical curses that force you to speak the truth (and the aftermath), using the truth like a weapon
• performative relationships that don’t reflect exactly the private truth of the relationship
• transactional relationships: characters who are together because each has something the other want (including fake dating)
• betrayal and loyalty: your loved ones for your ideals, your ideals for your loved ones, your morality for your ambition, your ambition for the greater good… including the opposite way you thought you were going to choose; compromising between the two while knowing you might not if it were someone else; a character concealing the fact they didn't betray someone the way one might expect they'd conceal a betrayal
• travels to the center of the mind/inside someone's dreams to save them (Eurydice plot with "inside their own mind/nightmares" as "the underworld" = A++)

things I like: the WWX getting Everything He Wants Agenda, especially if it involves JC crying. JC being utterly unable to cut his losses where his love for WWX is concerned. The great soulmate-titude being WQ and WWX and the equality between them. LWJ replacing his entire moral compass with whatever-pleases-WWX. WWX being hugely hypocritical (Shixiong Knows Best) and terrible at sincere emotions. People being Mean to JC in bed, JC getting whumped by WWX/WQ, JC's secrets (the sacrifice, being non-conned by the Wens if you want) being revealed to people despite his wishes is always fun. More hurt than comfort.
For all these ships you can interpret "WWX" as WWX haunting the narrative during his death. Maybe he's dead but he's living rent-free (except for all the pain) in the heads of the others, and any feelings relationships or bed activities very definitely are about WWX, and there's absolutely no growth whatsoever because everyone is way too stuck on WWX.

I didn’t exactly vibe with what I’ve seen of Three Hopes when it comes to Ingrid’s family background, so I’d rather you didn’t mention that.

I love how each of these subset contrasts the others, how they have these very distincts, very strong bonds - Jude choosing to trust in Alvin vs Milla's scenes where she threatens Alvin (which were hot. btw). I LOVE how Milla asks Alvin to help her get rid of her childhood friends and they both agree to lie to Jude.
I would love to read a post-canon (or post-TOX2!) fic where they make it work, or post-canon get-together. I would also love a story where either Milla's return went differently (ngl I thought that part could have been more fleshed out in the game), or one of the others got stuck in the spirit world, and they mount a rescue mission. could be the opportunity to whump Alvin a bit, or to have Milla and Alvin work together to rescue Jude (bonus if that includes Milla being made aware of exactly wtf happened since she sacrificed herself).
I also love every other ToX character, so feel free to have the others in the fic if you want.

- WWX/JC/WQ: I'm completely fascinated by the dynamic between WWX and WQ, as friends, mad scientists, equals, and the dynamic of WQ finding herself proprietary over JC after the golden core transfer. JC is WWX's, of course - WWX's childhood friend, sect leader, sidekick, the person he never calls shidi and even less brother, the person carrying WWX's core inside his belly. But he's also WQ's because WQ had her hands inside him when WWX had never touched him. That core of WWX, it's WQ who put it in JC. If you want to write a canon divergence where WQ doesn't die, or WWX doesn't, or neither does, or JC dies during the transfer and WWX speedruns making a fierce corpse, or you want to throw everything I said out the window because you know exactly what you want to write, please do!
- WWX/JC/WN/WQ: this would make a great sedoretu (sth like WWX and JC being Night and WQ and WN being Day) with taboo WWX/JC! or something in a canon divergence - maybe JC ranked WWX above protecting LP and took in WWX and all his Wens.
- JC/WQ/WN: JC stashes WWX's pet Wens in Lotus Pier, but that doesn't save WWX (maybe JC was there when JZX died, and couldn't protect WWX from the fallout?). So there's this huge WWX-shaped hole and so much resentment going around, and it would lend itself very well to a super dysfunctional JC-has-two-hands/holes situation! It could also lend itself to slow-burny "reconciliation" (quotation marks because there was originally nothing to 're'. conciliation? finding common ground?). Also there's the golden core transfer - does it ever slip out? do they kink on it? how badly does JC take it? how proud is WQ of her work?
- WWX/LWJ/JC/WQ: look. look. WWX returns from the dead and finds himself Extremely Married to three people who clearly have learned how to work around one another, edges and tempers and all. (you decide how WQ is alive. maybe when JGS wanted to kill her JL came down with an illness she managed to cure, and that saved her life, and in time JC relocated her to LP. maybe she was wounded rather than dead, and WN's loss of control in Carp Tower let her crawl away, and JC found her.) maybe there were arranged marriages. in any case it's extremely about these three coming together about WWX. and WWX struggling to deal with that because it's a lot! it's a lot!!! he has a harem! who was going to tell him!!!! (WQ takes issue with the word; JC does too but that definitely is never going to stop WWX)
- WWX/JC/LWJ: what WWX wants is JC *and* LWJ. up to you where you want to take this! maybe LWJ confessed that he and Sect Leader Jiang used to fuck while JC was dead, and WWX *needs* it to happen. maybe there were shenanigans and WWX learned despite JC's efforts about JC's sacrifice, and somehow the only way to deal with that is to get JC in WWX's relationship! maybe it's sex pollen! maybe WWX is the only one happy with the arrangement, but LWJ would deny him nothing and JC would rather have scraps of WWX than self-respect. maybe LWJ doesn't mind but is really just there because his husband decided he wants his former shidi/wants to see LWJ bang his former shidi. maybe, even it's a get-together that everyone will be happy about in the end but for now it's misunderstandings and angst time!

Here’s some stuff I’m interested in!
- Dimitri/Felix/Ingrid: the great rivalry about values and Glenn's legacy that Felix and Ingrid have going on (that may or may not devolve into hatesex) + Felix's feelings for Dimitri. Would work great for the Academy, but I would eat up anything post-timeskip about something like that. Felix and Ingrid have to try and put some of their issues away to help Dimitri (can Felix even do that? can't he? is that when Ingrid realize Felix loves Dimitri?) It's so fraught and layered. I'm not super into Ingrid and Dimitri being romantic beyond Ingrid chivalry-ing herself into a knight's love for her king, fwiw.
- Ashe/Felix/Ingrid: I love how their supports are about chivalry, that each of them has their own definition, and each of them takes issue with things the others believe! each of the pairings is interesting and the contrasts would make an interesting picture. I'm not super interested in romantic declarations for this trio, but I'd love to see how they work. What does conflict look like for them? I assume the romantic gestures are pretty understated, but do they tell other people that there’s something here, or don’t they bother? Does each of them have a different opinion on how they’d call the relationship, or think there needs to be a name?
- Cyril/Ashe/Lysithea: Cyril Has Two Hands. Lysithea grabbed one, and Ashe took the other, and now here they are. One thing I love about the dynamics here is that it's so easy to picture Ashe (easy-going, sensitive) reach out to Lysithea (Cat) to try and get along with his (would-be?) boyfriend's girlfriend. Ashe and Lysithea negotiating a relationship while Cyril is focused on other more important things would be great. Tbf it would also be fun if you swapped who's being oblivious. Maybe Ashe would like to close the triangle and Lysithea is ???? Or maybe Cyril and Lysithea talked it out between them and are trying to get Ashe on board, with misunderstood results. Basically timeskip or post-canon get-together would be great.
