Title: The Queen and the Girl who would be Night – a Gotham fairytale
Characters: Cass (Oracle, Steph, Helena, Leslie, Harvey Dent, Dick)

Summary: the Queen of Fables takes over Gotham, and Cass is the hero of this story.

Notes & timeline: goes hand-wavy sometime between Infinite Crisis and RIP. Inspiration from the “Queen of Fables” arc of JLA (JLA #47-49). References No Man's Land and some of the unhappy events post Infinite Crisis (specifically, the Deathstroke screwing with Cass' mind storyline, which I've taken a couple liberties with. I don't know either.) No one's dead, everyone's in Gotham but Jason, Cass is Batgirl, Steph is Spoiler, Tim is Robin.

au_bingo, theme 'Alternate History: Personal life of a character changed'. Also for the

comment_fic prompt, Five times a different superhero took in/adopted Jason Todd. Heavily skewed toward the Gotham crew and the Bat-connections, but not so much that I've written the fic where Steph's mom takes Jason in.

Also: I'm sure there are stories that explain why and how Bruce is a failure. Those aren't these stories. I didn't intend this as a compare and contrast, but as 'what-ifs?' that someone I hope will find enjoyable.

( I'm thinking about the tragic endings all these stories could have. )

Summary: Slade has been a witness of the push and pull between Batman and his partners since the beginning.
Notes: I've been trying to write this fic, or something like it, for a year and a half. I've come to realize that I'll only manage to write another version if I post this one first.

Takes place during the nebulous before-Bruce's-death that includes such fun as Nightwing One Year Later, Cass being a~~n evil~~ drugged-up murderer, and Rose in the Titans. Title from the Nightwing #80-#82 arc.

( With the first, it could have been a coincidence. )

One Perfect Moment
Last week was the One Perfect Moment week. Basically, post a moment that you defines and celebrates a character or a relationship, the longest recommended length of the 'moment' being two pages. There were 166 posts in all, many of which being absolutely wonderful, so if you've got a free afternoon I encourage you to give it a look. When I have more time I think I'll do a full post of every perfect moment by character.

My moments tended to be a little controversial, I think.
