Kabuto:

No, Kabuto doesn't think he's quite done with Leaf yet.


HinaKabu:

The concern in Hinata's stance made him smile, a fleeting, self-deprecating sort of smile, but it was only for a second before she turned to look at the Hokage.

"Of course my clan will keep him, Tsunade-sama; he won't be a bother to the village."

She sounded earnest and reasonable; Tsunade looked at her for a long time before she finally said, "Very well. I'll trust you with him, Hinata, but remember at the first affront I'll have to have him executed, you know that."

Hinata bowed, Tsunade left the interrogation cell without one glance backwards; and Kabuto wanted to laugh, because nothing made sense anymore.


Tsunade:

It's funny; since she met Naruto, she's started thinking more about her brother, and many of these memories leave her with a smile on her lips.


Jiraiya:
aka: what sentence limit?

"-and you're fighting Aburame on your second match, Jiraiya. Well, that shouldn't be too hard," Tsunade remarked.

A heavy silence ensued.

Tsunade frowned and looked away from the scroll on which the matches were announced, only to find a greenish Jiraiya apparently frozen mid 'Do. Not. Want.' expression. "Jiraiya? What's the matter?"

Jiraiya's mouth opened and closed once, twice, before he abruptly got a grip on himself. Or attempted to. "N-nothing! - Hahaha, it's nothing!"

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "Jiraiya..." she started menacingly. "If there's a reason you're going to lose that match..."

He was shaking his head, waving his hands in front of him, and was about to start talking, when -

"He's scared of bugs," Orochimaru said, in a tone that fell just short of perfect indifference. "What to do you think the toads are for?"

No I wasn't expecting that. D< I'm sorry for doing that to your prompt, because that could be such an interesting threesome, and I'm just making a huge ugly mess of it. T_T

They take turns healing and breaking him, and somewhere in the middle of it all Kabuto bites onto something he wasn't expecting: he's at the end of his game.

He still has a whole lifetime of script to unroll in front of them, but it won't work, because as long as he does, he's doing typical Kabuto, and one thing he knows is that they'll trust nothing out of that mouth - not unless it's extracted from beneath his figernails, not unless there's a chorus of irregular heartbeats spelling his words. They want to shatter the mask, but Kabuto thinks there's nothing under, and hasn't been for a very long time.

He can't even choose to drop it, the way his script is indicating he'll be willing to three days from now.

They've given him something to prevent his regenarative abilities to work, or something like that; it's not a shock that the greatest medic-nin of the history of the Five Countries achieved it, and Kabuto is trained to resist pain, but it's still painful. Very painful.

Also, worthless.

Kabuto doesn't have anything to hide anymore, and he's quickly losing the game anyway, so he sheds the rules that have been regulating his life for so long.

"I don't know what you want to know," he says frankly, "but I'm willing to share my research if you'll stop torturing me."

Tsunade lets out a sigh. "Kabuto," she starts.

"Really, Hokage-sama, I'm in a lot of pain here."

Behind the Hokage, Hyuuga Hinata smiles very faintly.

He smiles back for no other reason than because he wants to.


KabuHinaNeji:

"Kabuto, stop goading Neji quite so much," Hinata said absently, without looking up from her scroll. "Or next time, please avoid doing it outside of Father's office."

Interesting, yes, but so HARD. I've been tentatively nibbling around the edges of it for a while, but nothing's really shaping itself, and I have a feeling that if I ever do anything with it, it would have to be as a AU. One where Tsunade is actually the age she presents herself as, because Kabuto likes it better that way. *eyeroll*

Though, Tsunade wasn't so present in this and it ended up more Kabuto-centric, less threesome-ish, BUT I FORGIVE YOU.

Poor Kabuto. I honestly felt sorry for him here.
