Setting: still Paris in the 30s.

Issue: I have a number of characters in canon that make frequent and loving use of the word "fuck" in all its shapes. Obvs, it doesn't fit the context at the time, especially not in the place of the common comma as they tend to do in canon. What phrase/words could I use instead?

Addendum: most English bad words that I can recall are based on religion. "Hell", "damn", "god", what have you. Most of my characters are very much communists - and the one that swears the most is both a communist and Jewish (though that doesn't show, as he's not a main character). Do the math as to how likely it is that militant communists in the 30s would be using that kind of words.
Things I am researching at the moment for a fic that needs to be done in 48 hours:
- the Stavisky affair

Guys, you have no idea how much I hate the affair Stavisky. I wish I could just write about the rest of the 1934 debacle (that actually interests me lots and lots) without mentioning it once. WHY CAN'T I

The fic was for the HSO's bonus round, and as such was supposed to be done shortly, and less than the 3k it ended up being.
- names and types of purple stones
- whether there's a metal that could possibly fit the red-pink-purple range and wasn't copper
- the history of clockmaking in Europe
- feminine dress in the XVIIth century
- the history of hairbrushes and haircombs in Europe (I wish I was kidding)

Amount of research actually used in fic:
- nothing

Good job, me.
