1. Ran away from my father's and realised it the best decision I've ever taken.

2. Got 19/20 on my French Bac (the NEWTs equivalent) on the notoriously scandalously under-marked "inventive writing" test (as opposed to the more serious text commentary or essay).

3. Received a proposal from a classmate of mine on the day I turned eighteen. He was being quite serious.

4. Flirted with a perfect stranger in the street, reciting poetry to each other (in fine musical tradition) in front of my 12 year old brother (whose jaw had dropped). (The game was to guess the name of the poet. He had me on a love sonnet.)

5. Got three of my high school teachers read Harry Potter (and am now, years later, known to one of them as "the girl who introduced me to Harry Potter").

6. Gloat every 21 January. It is the anniversary of Louis XVI's execution and I can't help but rejoice. Even thinking about it cheers me up.

7. Wanted to live alone since I was five. (My childhood was very happy, I'll have you know.)

8. Have been known, since I was fourteen, as "the Red Girl" to my whole school, and alternatively been called "the Communist". (Which I am not, by the way.)

9. Fallen in love with my straight best friend. Came out, in the hope that she wasn't. Refrained from declaring my love since she didn't reciprocate the admission.

10. Have already given back essays without writing a thing because I'm one of those people who'd rather very nearly fail their year than be thought stupid.

Oh, and 11. Actually thought about this meme when I should have been doing constructive things.
