Guys, something terrible yet awesome is happening on the dcwomenkickingass poll to see who's more awesome and kickass.

Steph is losing.

Granted, her opponent is none other than Dinah Lance, the Black Canary, so it's not like there's no ground to it. But Steph is losing.

I unfortunately do not have the time to post a lyrical essay with scans and all why I think Steph really deserves this win, so I'll just copy paste my comment from scans daily:

It is a hard choice. So hard. Especially given the Road Home reminded me immediately of one my favourite Dinah Lance Is Awesome moments, so this duel strikes me as bizarrely ironic.

But I went with Steph. Because - while there's no denying Dinah's status and importance as a hero in the DCU, with her being the best martial artist in the JLA and one of the best in the world, while she has certainly kicked more literal ass than Steph, and while she's fun, determined, and is part of one of my comics canon OTP and she's an awesome person and character - to me Steph is the definition of Determinator. Look at the mood on this entry!

She's successfully fought the Editorial Mandate of Death. Not just that, she came back from little more than a disgraced hero, and now she's Batgirl. Steph is awesome for me because her kicking ass doesn't come from what she's accomplished, but from the promise of everything she's on her way to accomplishing. She's the hero of a Bildungsroman.

Also, Steph's Road Home one-shot have given me my personal Badass of the Month and might extend into the foreseeable future.
