hp100 drabbles
Jul. 16th, 2004 11:14 amSo I wrote three drabbles for that hp100. That means it's crossposted. Sorry for everyone that has to read it twice.
Wishes and Regrets
Hermione's first Arithmancy class in 4th year.
Professor Vector was droning on and on and on about things Hermione was sure they had already covered last year. Everyone around her looked more lost than Neville in Potions. She felt miserable, and she wished there was someone she could share her thoughts with. At least Ron had Harry, in Divination.
Hermione gave a little sigh. Unfortunately, Professor Vector just happened to be standing next to her. Hermione froze.
"You will prepare the three following exercises, Miss Granger."
On the left corner of her parchment, Hermione had doodled, in a curiously legible handwriting, I wish I hadn't dropped Divination.

Waiting
"I cannot believe him!" Hermione Granger's voice sounded full of righteous indignation. Ron took a sharp breathe. He would not cause more trouble when his best friend was being expelled. He would not.
"It was a really stupid thing to do!"
Next to him, a fidgeting Neville was turning redder with every word that left her mouth.
"Professor Hooch told us –"
Ron's temper got the better of him, and he snapped.
"Malfoy was laughing at us! What was he supposed to do? Let that slimy git break Neville's Remembrall?"
"McGonagall will expel him."
Neville's tone was sinister.
Ron shuddered.

Today was a day to celebrate, Severus Snape thought grimly, gazing at his glass of brandy. He was alone in his quarters. He failed to revel in it, and refrained from wondering what was wrong with him, because there were far too many answers to that for his personal comfort. He wished he could succeed in salvaging at least a minor fraction of said personal comfort.
Idly twirling the glass between his fingers, he concluded that once again, Harry Potter was to blame. The brat wasn't coming to take his Occlumency lessons anymore.
Somehow, it disturbed Snape's peace of mind.
