HP-only Five Things Meme
Aug. 1st, 2007 12:14 pmThe bad news are that I can't go on holidays, my computer crashed, and the USB devices that miraculously held several dozens of thousand words of written words have been infected by some virus which means that said fics cannot be posted on this computer. I am not having my best fandom summer ever.
But! OTOH, there's been the release of Deathly Hallows.
So here's the deal: ask me for a five-things (or five-ways-that, or five-times-that, or whatever) thingie about HP.
If you ask about Andromeda Black, you get another free! five-things! thingie!
(I expect spoilers in comments.)

HI R I LATE OR WUT.
Date: 2007-10-04 08:59 am (UTC)Hum. Okay, so all these are very not in the same universe. I mean, very not. I apologise?
i. When she allowed him to get away, at the end of everything.
The celebrating cheer and mourning tears were too much. He just wanted to be alone, really.
Luna's voice rang high and clear throughout the Great Hall, and - Haryy could've kissed her, really. But he chose to slither away instead.
ii. When Ginny and him convinced her into trying that threesome thing out, and who knew Harry could even think the word without blushing?
Ginny did practically all the work while Harry nodded at the proper intervals, trying to look serious and reliable and not at all like butterflies were dancing the jitterbugs with his innards.
The dim light reflected on Ginny's hair, burning it a darker red, and he could only make out a sliver of her jaw as she came closer and closer to Luna, with a kind of casual sleakyness he was more used to seeing aimed his way.
Watching her turn it on another girl, on Luna, was...
He couldn't decipher Luna's expression at all and suddenly he found himself wishing with everything he had that she wouldn't think it was a joke, wouldn't turn them down. Usually, he'd have dismissed the idea readily enough; she was Luna.
But tonight, there was something in her eyes...
As Ginny spoke in seducing, pleading tones, she put her hand on Luna's shoulder, as if it was nothing, and started slowly rubbing a circle with her thumb.
"So you see, we care a lot about you, and we really, really like you, and we've been told - I mean, if what we've heard - anyway that you might feel the same, or something like it, and--"
Luna slowly turned her gaze to look at Harry, who was briefly petrified by the silver reflections on the surface of her eyes, and then felt liquid fire start running through his veins as he saw something past the reflection. Ginny seemed to be wanting to say something for a moment, maybe to reassure Luna Harry was okay with it, but in the end she stayed silent.
And Harry found himself taking a step toward the two girls.
(That night he didn't kiss her. The following day Luna pressed her lips softly against his, but even now he can only kiss her when Ginny is looking.)
iii. (when she got married to Draco Malfoy of all people)
Draco Malfoy looked like he’d bitten into a lemon, and like he wished for nothing better than to tear his bride away from Harry Potter’s nefarious hug, as Harry realised over Luna’s (yellow) shoulder.
Only the thought of what Ginny might probably do to him later if he ruined her best friend’s wedding before the ceremony had even begun kept him from actually doing more. Though he knew he would bitterly regret it later, he did nothing at all, just stood there and hugged her and tried to remind himself why he’d ever thought standing up for Malfoy at his trial had been a good idea.
But he mustn’t ruin Luna’s wedding.
He couldn’t.
No one liked having a fight break out at their wedding.
Even Ron and Hermione had hated the idea.
Harry knew because as the groom’s best friend, the bride’s best friend, and the best man, the better part of his duties for several weeks pre-wedding had been to try and soothe them while each was stressing out over the possibility of having a row with one another on that day.
He’d tactfully refrained from mentioning that they’d been having rows with one another for longer than they’d ever been friends (and also because he valued his physical well-being), and as such should be used to it by now, and endeavoured to look sympathetic.
He’d had his private opinion on the likelihood of the two of them making it through the day without a fight given how jumpy both were, but, amazingly, they hadn’t, though things had been a little tense until Victoire had pummelled her plate into Teddy’s face.
So Harry reminisced and brooded on the necessity to not ruin people’s wedding by having the groom challenge him into a duel, and did nothing.
Then Luna kissed him.
iv. when he got married.
Though he hugged her.
But then again, he only ever kissed Ginny on that day.

Date: 2007-10-20 02:17 pm (UTC)And Draco and Luna? Oh, that could so work. Especially if Draco has caught up on the fact that Harry tends to seethe into a corner whenever the subject of Luna being with someone else comes up. ;) And! And! Poor, stupid Harry and his inability to ever express his emotions! I suppose I should pity him less because he was all but asking for it but... ::sigh:: What can you do, I guess?
