1. the fic about how the rest of the world deals with Jason reintegrating into the Batfam and Bruce/Jason. Is Jason reintroduced to the good society of Gotham, and if so under what stratagem and what's the gossip? What are the family's reactions? (seriously, the family having to deal with Bruce/Jason being a thing yesssssss.)
2. the fic about Bruce/Dick/Babs. Babs and Bruce and their passive-aggressive-possessive Dick tug-of-war. Or, Dick's beautiful obliviousness and Bruce and Babs mooning/lusting from afar and pretending it's tactical observation and not at all that they don't want to accidentally break his heart. Or Babs and Bruce tag-teaming Dick and it's Dick's birthday and Christmas and unicorns do exist. Angst or banter or pointed sharp tactics or porn. Dick's Bruce-and-or-Babs identity kinks nomnomnomnom.
3. any outsider PoV on the Bats. I like Renée and Jim and Amy Rohrbach and Brenda-the-coffeeshop-owner and Sasha and the Arrows and the Supers and the Wilsons and the Titans. I like gossip from disreputable sources like the criminal elements or newspapers or the hear-say of urban legends. How are they perceived? A discussion, for instance, between two of them on the subjects of the Bats and how the characters talking see different sides of them would make me happy. So would a series of snippets about how each of them see the Bats and their AWESOME FUCKED-UPNESS. Or anything on the "those Bats. We love them, but dude, fucked up." front, and "maybe it's Gotham" and if there's some non-Bat Gothamite in the convo they could raise their eyebrows and the other would go "no offence meant!" or something.
3.a. the fic where Rose Wilson joins the Batfam instead of joining the Titans.

A fic featuring the first few characters you mention - something along the lines of "five things they got wrong about the Batfamily", maybe. I suppose it would depend whether they were thinking about them in or out of their costumes. You've given me thinky thoughts.

Date: 2012-01-07 01:32 pm (UTC)Your second paragraph is my life. \o/ One thing I really like about Renée and Jim is that their relationship to the Bats is very layered and personal, and it's one that has the potential to change depending on the point in history. Renée was inspired by Batman, she was Batman's main contact in the GCPD after War Games, Bruce clearly cares for her as a person, and then she becomes the Question. Jim knows Bruce's identity but he never can/wants to acknowledge it, and his daughter put the lie to "not on your life". (Why is there no canon of Jim and Dick exchanging even two sentences after Babs and Dick date?) Amy - well, I really feel Blüdhaven's destruction was a waste. A discussion between Amy and Jim. Or maybe Amy has a coffee at Brenda's coffeeshop. I'm just full of frustration I don't know how to articulate in fic.

Date: 2012-01-09 03:40 pm (UTC)Have you read the Black Mirror? Jim and Dick do interact in that a lot and I think both as Batman and Dick Grayson. Their relationship is realistically strained and they do touch on Dick's relationship with Babs when Dick mentions that Jim was the one who drove him to his prom. (Incidentally, I hate it that they were trying to make them the same age).
I was thinking how much I'd love a discussion between Amy and Renée but Amy and Jim would be even better, especially because they both know who Dick is and and now I'm wondering if Amy put Dick's connection to Bruce together and came up with Batman? Did she even know that Dick was Bruce's ward/adopted son?
