Hey I'm da pimp.

Today work involved an impromptu presentation of Batman to a girl I'm tutoring. For an hour and a half.

And by presentation I mean mostly "Batman = fucked-up" and "Bruce/Jason = canon OTP canon".

And Saturday I'm bringing her a few comics, and she told me she'd like psychological stuff. So I'm thinking Gotham Knights #1, Under the Hood, the Tec issue where Joker has a little girl tied up in the trunk of a car, and... I'm probably going to check through my other Gotham Knights. I'd rather not lend her any more trade paperbacks, UtH is long enough as it is and she's far from fluent in English.

I'm such a proselyte.

The first twelve issues of Gotham Knights were the ones about how Bruce couldn't tell the Batfamily just how much he loved them and so he wrote it in his files and said things like "Dick is brave" instead, right? She might like those ones.

Yeah, I love those and they're the first thing I thought about, but they have the downside that Bruce's files are rather wordy. And I've been given to understand that they're Not For Everyone, so I'm probably going to pick just a couple.

I'd also like to show her what different writers can do with the characters, which means that with Gotham Knights in, the Nightwing/Huntress miniseries is right out.
