Um. I kind of got into Tim backwards - heard about him first in fanfic, got interested in his relationship with and Steph (ooh, another person who should have been in my list in the last comment...), and started reading anything I could get my hands on. So continuity-wise, I'm very much in the dark. I can think of Cool Things That Tim Did, but not where and when they can be found.
I like Tim and Cass especially because, working together, they're better than Bruce. Cass is a better fighter, better sneak, better martial artist. And Tim is smarter. I mean, he became Robin after figuring out, through sheer applied detective work, that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Recently, he won a fight against Lady Shiva by knowing where she would be and predicting her heart rate (I'm being vague here because it was too awesome to spoil - it was either in the latest issue of Robin or in Battle for the Cowl).
Tim, more than any other character except Steph, is only a Hero in the capital-letter sense because he works at it, constantly, and that endears him to me.
Let me consult my trade paperbacks a moment...
Robin #163-167, collected in a trade as Robin: The Big Leagues are some of my favorites, especially the last one. Robin 148-153 (Robin: Wanted in TPB form) deals with the really dumb Cass-brainwashing storyline, and so has epic stretches of Fail, but Tim himself is in excellent form, the way that he outthinks every obstacle because he simply isn't capable of outfighting them. Detective Comics #829, which is in the Batman: Death and the City TPB is also pretty decent. The Gotham: Underground #1-9 TPB has very little Tim, but some golden moments of snark between him and Commissioner Gordon.
But that's all pretty recent stuff. Besides that, I'm not sure what to recommend.
